Transforming Lives Since 1947
HBMVK, Kotwalwadi Trust is deeply committed to women's empowerment, supported wholeheartedly by LTPCT.
Our Story
Through our vocational training center, we have uplifted women and youth across several tribal and rural regions including Neral, Mamdapur, Bhadwal, Shelu, Karjat, Poshir, Kalamb, Kashele, and Chowk—villages nestled in the hilly landscapes of the Sahyadri ranges.
As the only vocational training center serving the tribal–rural belts of Karjat Taluka and the bordering regions of Khalapur, Murbad, and Thane district, we provide life-changing opportunities for school dropouts, destitute women, divorcees, and single mothers. Many trainees walk long distances or spend over two hours navigating multiple modes of transport just to reach the center—an inspiring testament to their determination and hope.
Over the past nine years, our Bedside Assistant program has transformed lives and set powerful examples within the community. Today, most clinics, hospitals, and laboratories in the region employ our trained Bedside Assistants. Rural and tribal girls, once hesitant, are now confidently serving in urban home-care settings and supporting elderly citizens with compassion and skill.
In exceptional circumstances, we have provided boarding facilities to groups of tribal girls, ensuring their safety and well-being while they completed their training. These young women are now successfully integrated into society, earning dignified livelihoods.

Our Impact
Beyond employment, our Bedside Assistants play a critical role in community health. Their ability to provide first aid during the golden hour can save lives—especially in remote areas where lack of awareness and limited public transport contribute to preventable deaths.

The Siddhagad Memorial
For over 83 years, the community has gathered annually at the Siddhagad Memorial to honor the sacrifices of these freedom fighters. During 1944-45, revolutionaries including our namesakes took shelter in the dense forests of the Sahyadri ranges, operating underground against British rule. The memorial site, where they were eventually ambushed, remains a sacred place of remembrance. Though the original rock shelter was washed away in a flood in 2005, the tradition of gathering continues, keeping the flame of their sacrifice alive for future generations.
Bhavtaal - A Living Monument
Bhavtaal is a unique structure standing on our main campus—a 600 ft. hall constructed from the same building where freedom fighters once stayed. Using the original roof, tiles, doors, windows, walls, cupboards, and bricks, this holy structure serves as a temple that speaks to the hardships and experiences of the freedom fighters who founded and shaped the principles of Kotwalwadi Trust.
